Salvation, Prayer and Record Taking

Salvation Prayer & Making Reports

After sharing the salvation message, let everyone know:

“We’re going to pray for you.”

I like to ask what I call the eternal question:

“God forbid, but if you died today, do you have complete inner assurance or an inner witness that your spirit would go to be with God in Heaven?”

The Bible teaches that God’s Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are His children.

Ask everyone to close their eyes for a moment so that each person has privacy.

Then say:

“How many of you would raise your hand and say, ‘I would like you to lead me in a prayer. I want to let go and let Jesus take charge of my life. I want to ask Jesus to become Lord of my life and forgive me for every sin and wrong I have committed.’

If that’s you, let me see your hand. Please keep every eye closed.”

Important: Count the Hands

At this point, a designated team member must carefully count every person who raises their hand.

After the hands have been counted, lead everyone who responded in the following prayer.

Salvation Prayer

“Lord Jesus, please forgive me for every sin and wrong I have committed.

Please forgive me for every time I have lied or stolen.

Forgive me for every time I have gotten drunk or high.

Forgive me for every time I have thought about suicide or giving up on life.

Please forgive me for every time I have held grudges or unforgiveness toward others.

Please forgive me for sexual sin and every unclean thing I have done.

Lord, please forgive me for every time I have been rebellious or said hurtful things to others.

Forgive me for my pride and selfishness.

Lord, I accept Your forgiveness, and I choose to forsake and turn away from my old lifestyle.

I choose to completely let go and let Jesus take charge of my life.

Jesus, I accept You as my Lord and Savior.

I commit to follow You for the rest of my life, to be Your disciple, and to study Your Word.

Please fill me with the Holy Spirit and help me live the life You have called me to live.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Personal Prayer

After the salvation prayer, say:

“If you prayed that prayer, please keep your eyes closed for another moment and talk to Jesus as your friend.

We’re going to come by and gently touch you on the forehead and pray a blessing over each one of you.”

After praying for everyone, thank God for the pizza and proceed with serving the students.

Outreach Reporting Requirements

This is extremely important.

At every outreach, designate one specific person to count the exact number of hands raised during the salvation invitation.

Do not estimate or approximate the number.

We need an exact figure for each school showing how many students raised their hands in response to the salvation invitation.

Keep a small notebook with you or immediately record the number on your cell phone so that the information is not forgotten.

Each outreach report should clearly identify:

School name
Date of outreach
Exact number of hands raised
Name of the person who counted the responses

These numbers must be reported to me at the end of each week.

Accurate reporting is required for accountability to the Campus Revolution of Love Board of Directors. These reports must be completed according to this procedure before stipends can be distributed.

Please make accurate reporting a priority at every outreach.
